2012 Brite Winterfest in Ohio City

I’m very excited that the Cleveland Brite Winterfest will be held in Ohio City this year. Described as “Cleveland’s annual outdoor winter art and music festival. Celebrating winter is better than tolerating it.”  Brite Winterfest is chock full of a number of GREAT local bands. Humble Home, The Lighthouse and the Whaler, The Modern Electric, Filmstrip, Tom Evanchuck, like 15 more and yours truly (as in me, not a band called yours truly. Who would name their band “Yours Truly?!” That’d be like naming your band “Great Lakes Brewing Company.”)

Great Show at Happy Dog Last Night

Thank you to all those who made it up to the Happy Dog to see me perform last night. It was the first time I’ve played a full set in over a year. Josh Jesty, Keith Vance and Noon all had great sets. We easily filled the room. Not bad for a weeks notice.  It was awesome to see so many old and new friends from near and afar in one room. It was like a big family reunion. Next, I’ll be playing at the Cleveland Brite Winterfest in February. More details to come.

New Design

This site has just received quite the face lift. I’ve given it a total aesthetic overhaul as well as updating content in almost all the sections. I’ve added a Video Production page, videos on the Music page, updates to my resume, a few additions to the Graphic Design page including the addition of Web Design. I’ve also added links to all of my social media profiles as well as an embedded music player to listen to the sounds I’ve made.

Take a look around. Thank you for the interest.

TEDxCLE

On Friday, April 15, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend TEDxCLE at the Capitol Theater in the Gordon Square Arts District. If you’re not familiar, TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences — the TED Conference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Edinburgh UK each summer — TED includes the award-winning TEDTalks video site, the Open Translation Project and TED Conversations, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize.

The second annual event in Cleveland was a great one. A day of short talks from some very interesting people in Cleveland. Check out http://www.tedxcle.com/ for more info.

If you’re interested in attending next year, be ready. Tickets for this years event sold out in 90 minutes!

Listen to my album

In 2010 I acquired the recording services of Division Sound, otherwise known as Keith Vance and David Beans. I recorded 6 songs. I’m pretty proud of these recordings. I played all the instruments. You can listen to it below and download it here.

Cleveland Scene’s Best of 2011

In Cleveland Scene’s “Best of Cleveland 2011″ issue, out on March 30, Cellar Door Records was named Best Record Label. This is pretty cool for us. It’s a great way to top off the release of Cellar Door Records Volume III. Thanks to all of you that voted. Pick one up well…. anywhere. Below is the text from the article. You can see it on their site HERE.

Best Record Label

Cellar Door Records

The indie-minded Cellar Door (which started as a coffee shop) has shut down and restarted a couple times over the past decade. But they recently released their third Cleveland compilation, featuring some of the city’s best artists, including the Modern Electric, Humble Home, and Tom Evanchuck. Good news: Cellar Door is supposedly amping up for a more steady release schedule in the future.
